Eden ’21 becomes Sia

Sia Music Video

Eden ’21  starred as young Sia, a well known music artist, on January 22nd and 23rd  in the upcoming Maitre Gims music video, Je Te Pardonne, featuring Sia. Eden began her acting career in fourth grade When she was discovered by her agent, Meredith Fine. Since then Eden has done several commercials such as one for  Staples and Fila Tennis. She guest starred on several Nickelodeon TV shows and is a recurring character on ABC’s General Hospital, but this was her first music video experience. The video was directed by French director David Tomaszewski. It tells the love story between Gims and Sia when they were younger, and then relates it to the future. Most of the video is in French. Eden mentioned that the music video is a little out of the ordinary, but that’s what you would expect from Sia.

The music video and audition process took four days in total. Eden auditioned on a Wednesday, found out she got the part on a Thursday, and shot the video on Friday and Saturday for about nine and a half hours each day. Eden mentioned that for the audition, all of the girls had to have blond hair and blue eyes. For her, this was even more intimidating than a regular audition because everyone looked the same.

“You kind of feel better, because if you don’t get [the part], and the person that did [get it] looks nothing like you, you might not exactly look the part. If you go in and everyone looks like you, it’s really about acting and how good you are,” Eden said.

The first day of shooting took place in the middle of the woods in the Hollywood Hills and the second day of shooting was on a beach in Malibu. Eden said that everyone on the shoot was warm and friendly. Although Eden didn’t get to meet Sia, the highlight of the experience was getting to wear the iconic platinum blond Sia wig.

“Throughout the day I got used to it and when they took it off I kind of missed it and it almost felt weird without it on,” Eden said.

Being dressed as the iconic singer helped Eden get into character and really embody the essence of the role. By the end of the shoot, Eden connected to everyone on set and knew this music video would be an unforgettable experience.

Eden has a passion for acting and performing and would like to continue pursuing it in the future.
