A new fad has swept these ever-graceful halls of learning: blankets. If you walked onto the Marlborough campus on a rainy Tuesday in January, you would probably think that it was pajama day or something along those lines. Everywhere you turn you’d see girls walking around with brightly colored fuzzy blankets wrapped around their waists and draping down to the floor.  In the cold winter months, girls used to put on their baggy class sweatpants, but in the past few years students have started bringing their blankets to School with them. Since Marlborough girls are so tired all the time, they now bring their blankets to school to snooze in the comfy chairs in the ARC during their free periods. Almost as good as a bed, right?

Here are some reasons that you might want to bring your blanket to School:
-to insulate your legs from the freezing cold wind

-to pass out comfortably while listening to your teacher drone on about something that you don’t care about

-to hide from teachers by curling up in a ball and throwing your blanket over yourself
-to use as a picnic blanket on the field because you don’t like grass
-to hide your out-of-uniform Lululemon yoga pants
-to conceal the food that your are eating in the ARC
-to camouflage the white cord of your earphone while listening to music in class
-to console yourself while having a mental breakdown after taking an impossible AP Euro test and having a 50-point pop quiz in math
- to distract attention from your pile of stuff in the hallway by covering it with a blanket
-to whip people
-to start a blanket war (where everyone brings a blanket and you decide which one is the best, based on design and luxury)
-to shock your friends using the property of static electricity you learned in science

Overall, blankets are trending at Marlborough. Luckily, there is a practicality to bringing blankets to school, but there is also a whimsical and fun side. Good luck staying warm without one!
