Power of Youth Event: Girl Up

Last weekend I had the opportunity to attend Variety Magazine’s Power of Youth block party at Paramount Studios, honoring young celebs for their charitable works, including Justin Bieber, Bow Wow, Victoria Justice, and Shailene Woodley. I interviewed all of the honorees and other celebs from television shows like Glee, Make it or Break it, and Modern Family. Shaliene Woodley could not have been sweeter and more down to earth as she walked down the red carpet in jeans, Toms, and a t-shirt featuring her charity’s logo. She was well-spoken and clearly passionate about the charity she started, called All It Takes.

I was interviewing the celebs as the spokesperson for Girl Up, the charity Victoria Justice was being honored for. Girl Up was started by a United Nations foundation that gives American girls the opportunity to raise awareness and funds for girls in third world countries. The Girl Up pep rally, featuring Queen Rania of Jordan, will be held at Marlborough on Friday November 5th, after school in the gym.

I had so much fun being a part of the press and attending the event as a guest. Note to self: never wear four inch heels while interviewing on the red carpet, because you WILL get huge blisters and tower over Justin Bieber.
