Mustangs Walk for the Cause

Imagine walking 10,000 meters on a Sunday morning.  (In Marlborough terms, that’s equivalent to walking to Larchmont and back four or five times.)  Well, some of our fellow Mustangs did just that, and for a great cause.  The 26th Annual AIDS Walk in Los Angeles was on October 17, and several Marlborough girls joined 30,000 walkers on the 10-kilometer trek to support HIV/AIDS research and awareness.

The Walk benefited AIDS Project Los Angeles as well as other organizations in LA County.  The Marlborough School team of walkers, which included teachers and Violets alike, raised $1,225 for the cause.  Eight members of W.I.T.T.Y, Marlborough’s new student-run charitable improv club with a creative name, donated and walked to raise an impressive $2,135, double their original goal.

Taylor ’11 was glad she had the opportunity to participate in the AIDS Walk.
“I thought it was vital that we all contribute,” she said.
